Steven Flippo
Steven D. Flippo began serving June 12 as the new director of missions for the Lawrence County Association of Baptists. He previously was pastor of congregational care at Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Ala. He also served as a missionary with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in South Africa for nine years. Flippo holds degrees from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Cordova, and Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Okla. He and his wife, Cala, have four grown children.
Calvary Baptist Church, Humboldt, has called Tony Crossnoe as pastor.
Billy Crowell has been called as pastor of China Grove Baptist Church, Rutherford.
Larry Thomas
Gibson Baptist Church, Humboldt, recently called Steve Littleton as pastor.
Davis Watkins has been called as children’s minister at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Moscow.
Larry Thomas recently was called as pastor of Auburn Baptist Church, Auburntown. He formerly served as senior pastor of New Zion Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Doug Thornton
Doug Thornton began serving May 7 as pastor of Union Hill Baptist Church, Goodlettsville. He was ordained to the ministry on June 7 by The Church at Grace Park, White House.
CHURCHES
White Hall Baptist Church, Trenton, celebrated its 75th anniversary on April 27.
West Shiloh Baptist Church, Stantonville, held revival June 8-10. Guest evangelists were Johnny Burns, pastor, Harmony Baptist Church, Savannah; David Singleton, pastor, First Baptist Church, Bethel Springs; and Tommy Wilder, pastor, Faith Baptist Church, Hickory Flat, Miss.

First Baptist Church, Somerville, will send a missions team to Cape Town, South Africa, in July to assist some Southern Baptist International Mission Board missionaries.
Two times a month Snow Hill Baptist Church, Dowelltown, holds a food distribution on Sunday afternoons and then a short worship service for the recipients.
ASSOCIATIONS
Hardeman County Baptist Association, based in Bolivar, will hold an On Mission Celebration Sept. 23-24. Twenty-seven churches in the association already plan to participate, reported Tommy Warner, director of missions.
Duck River Baptist Association, based in Tullahoma, will serve in Princeton, Ind., June 24-30, to help a new church being led by Wayne Wester, former pastor, Highland Baptist Church, Tullahoma; and in Brooklyn, New York City, July 8-15. The Woman’s Missionary Union of Mid-South Baptist Association, based in Memphis, will hold an Adventures in Missions Girls Camp July 6-9 at The Grove at Red Oak Lake, Cordova, a ministry of Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett. Campbell County Baptist Association, based in LaFollette, will host a missions team from Glendale, Ky. June 4-9. The missions workers will help two churches in the association.
Weakley County Baptist Association, based in Dresden, will send a missions group to Cincinnati, Ohio, to support the Tennessee/Greater Cincinnati and Dayton Baptist Partnership, July 8-14. The team will do construction work and lead a Vacation Bible School. This effort will end the association’s five-year partnership with the area.
