James Hickey
James Hickey, director of missions for Union Baptist Association, Sparta, has resigned after serving in the position for just over five years. Prior to service in Union, he served as pastor of East Commerce Baptist Church in Lewisburg for 26 years, where he retired in 2012, after 44 years in ministry. Other Tennessee churches in which he served include First Baptist Church, Benton; Saulsbury Baptist Church, Saulsbury; and Shiloh Baptist Church, Ocoee. Hickey has degrees from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis and Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville. He has served on various committees in the Tennessee Baptist Convention while still a pastor. He will continue to serve in Union until a new director of missions is called. Ben Maddox
Ben Maddox, Baptist Campus Ministry specialist at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville was recently recognized for five years of service with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. He also has served as a campus minister in Mississippi and Arkansas. He and his wife, Karen, have a son, Brock.

Trinity Baptist Church, Manchester, has called

as full-time children’s ministry director. She has a degree in family ministry from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and served on a church staff in Texas.
The Shepherd’s Field Baptist Church, Martin, welcomed Josh Carden as pastor on Sept. 6. He and his wife, Meagan, have two children, Ethan and Nate.
Mark Oliver has been called as minister to children at First Baptist Church, Hickory Withe.
First Baptist Church, Somerville, has called Ron Thompson as worship media director and Emily Waldon as communications director.

First Baptist Church, Pegram, will hold revival services Oct. 11-14 with guest evangelist Jonas Taylor of Lebanon. Raymond Ashmore will lead the music.
Rome Baptist Church, Lebanon, will hold revival services Oct. 11-14 with different speakers each night. Robert Hammer will preach a “Chalk Art” message at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. Monday through Wednesday services begin at 7 p.m. Speakers are: Terry Wilkerson, Oct. 12; Glenn Denton, Oct. 13; and Ronnie Owens, Oct. 14. The Nesbitt Family will serve as worship leaders each evening.
First Baptist Church, Estill Springs, will host The Tribute Quartet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. Admission is free. A love offering will be taken.
DEATHS
Lillian Hammett Bradley, 97, died Aug. 14. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church, Clarksville, for 75 years. She taught Sunday School to all ages and helped establish the library that now bears her name — the Lillian H. Bradley Library at First Baptist Church. She also established and taught in the FBC kindergarten program.
