Jimmy Burroughs has been called as interim pastor of Pinson Baptist Church, Pinson, in Madison County.
Elected as officers of McMinn-Meigs Baptist Association were Phil Prichard, Wildwood Baptist Church, moderator, and Victor King, Short Creek Baptist Church, associate moderator.

Jonathan R. Young was installed as the third pastor in the 73-year history of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Cookeville, on Oct. 21. Ramon Wyatt of Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, McMinnville, where Young served as associate minister and youth pastor, presided over the installation service.

A concert by Christian recording artist MercyMe was the highlight of the 21st annual Union University Scholarship Banquet Oct. 18 with more than 1,600 people in attendance at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson. Since their debut in 2001, MercyMe has sold more than 9 million units. The group is best known for “I Can Only Imagine.”
